The Director Quality Assurance Mr Michael Wangai and the Director Hansard Research and Information Services (Vihiga County) Mr. Teddy Musiiru discussed ways in which the University of Nairobi can collaborate with county assemblies to promote good governance. These include significance of quality assurance in the registration process which includes development of motion, handling petitions from the public, processing of bills into law and interrogation of various policy documents.

They further discussed how to overcome factors limiting linkages between county governments with academic institutions in Kenya. Among them include developing liaison offices in all regions, Utility of research products to enrich good governance, Making adequate budgetary allocations to facilitate linkages and collaborating with other stakeholders like Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) to strengthen such linkages.
